Financial Transparency

Lexington ISD believes in providing our taxpayers with the information necessary to make informed decisions about the financial stability of the District. We are committed to providing this financial information in a format that is transparent, understandable and easily accessible.

As a Texas Public School District, Lexington ISD has revenue streams consisting of federal, state and, local sources. A significant portion of the local revenue is comprised of property tax revenue generated by property owners within the boundaries of LISD. As stewards of taxpayer dollars, the LISD Board and Administration is committed to transparency of financial dealings. The Financial Transparency webpage is generated in an effort to promote a crystal-clear picture of district finances for public viewing.

Schools FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas)
The state's school financial accountability rating system, known as the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST), ensures that Texas public schools are held accountable for the quality of their financial management practices and that they improve those practices. The system is designed to encourage Texas public schools to better manage their financial resources to provide the maximum allocation possible for direct instructional purposes (tea.texas.gov).
