A Message from Dr. McArthur, Superintendent of Schools
Dear LISD Parents,
In an effort to keep you informed about potential safety concerns in our community, Lexington ISD wants to make you aware of an incident reported this evening to one of our principals by a parent. This morning an adult male approached two of our middle school students on their way to school in an attempt to communicate with them. Our principal contacted Officer Ted Walton immediately and the Lexington Police Department has put a plan in place to take positive proactive steps. Lexington ISD will continue to partner with law enforcement and will maintain regular communication to ensure the safety of all students. I would also like to encourage all parents to remind their children about safety skills and awareness when pertaining to a situation such as this. Thank you so much for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe community.
