Lexington ISD schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 21, and Monday, January 24. All scheduled UIL activities will continue as planned. We will resume our normal schedule on Tuesday morning, January 25.
Our administrators, teachers, and staff are to be commended for their outstanding efforts to keep our schools open and operating safely in spite of heavy staff and student absences due to COVID-19. During the closure, all classrooms and student areas will be deep cleaned and/or disinfected by our custodial staff.
The decision to close our schools is never an easy decision and is not made lightly. We hope we are providing parents and guardians with enough notice to make any needed childcare arrangements. It is our hope that this closure will allow time for teachers, staff, and students to recover.
