hello Eagle Nation I just wanted to take a few minutes today to share some information about the May 2023 bond proposal keeping our school safe while providing for the needs of our students is a priority for our community recently our long range planning committee comprised of several community members and School staff completed a strategic facility plan review and made recommendations to our Board of Trustees the result the need for a bond proposal provide more than just a facelift for Lexington ISD it will provide facilities necessary to support our growing student population while ensuring the safe and secure environment for our students and staff deserve along with a sense of Renovations and additions the bond will add academic classrooms and increase capacity at all campuses the bond will also provide for redesign space for egg and career programs with random to add new courses the proposed Bond will increase student safety by relieving overcrowding in facilities were large group instruction take place and where it here at the safety guidelines is a must or vocational shop gym space and weight training for please cannot adequately accommodate our current student population much less the growth is projected for our district the bond will also increase safety in areas that receive heavy used by the community including the AP Kleinschmidt gymnasium and seating area and public track at Eagle Stadium the renovation of the APK gym will provide a safer space for students and Spectators the long range planning committee believes this renovation will serve as a great venue for games and community events years to come which is a fitting tribute for the man whose name it Bears we're excited about the proposal for new classroom well-equipped size lab proper space for special education classrooms and more efficient tag and Vocational to see we're also excited about the proposal for additional Jim space that will include new locker rooms in a larger safer weight training facility this new building will provide a functional Athletic Facility while serving as an updated multi-purpose space for mini district and community events voters aged 65 and older who have a freeze on their Homestead will not see an increase of their Homestead taxes associated with this by your voice and your vote are in 4 early voting starts April 24th and runs through May 2nd with the general election and final day for voting is May 6th for more detailed information please visit our website and we'll see you at the polls
