Superintendent's Monthly Message

May 2019
We made it!! It has been a busy and fast year, but we have made it to May. Now we have banquets, field trips, awards assemblies, testing and lots of celebrations before May 23rd , but we are also doing lots of learning and assessing knowledge in those days as well. As we prepare for the end of the year, I encourage you to check out our district calendar on the website for all of the opportunities to support our students at LISD.

May 6 th -10 th is LISD STAFF APPRECIATION week and we want to let our staff know that we couldn’t be more proud of the job they do for our students on a daily basis. From our bus driver, paraprofessionals, clerical staff, nurses, cafeteria workers, teachers, custodians, and administrators  we have some of the best employees in the state and we want them to know that we appreciate the exceptional jobs they do every day!! Thank you all for being awesome!!

As we get into the month of May I would like to remind you that graduation is scheduled for May 25 th at 8:00 pm on the football field. (If we have rain, we will move it to the gym.) I can’t wait to watch these students receive their diplomas and start their next steps to successful careers. We have some amazing seniors and I am so excited about their potential for great things in the future. Congrats Class of 2019!!

During the summer, the offices at LISD will be open Monday-Thursday 8:00-5:30. If we can assist you in any way, please let us know. Thank you for your continued support of LISD! Have a great summer!
